Since the late 1990’s a small and dedicated group of Oxford residents have been working to make this trail system possible in the City of Oxford.
In 2014, we were awarded a $500,000 Clean Ohio grant through the Ohio Department of Natural Resources. This grant will allow the first phase to be constructed in 2017.
We have since been awarded a second grant from OKI Regional Council of Governments for the second phase of the trail, the Miami Connector, which is scheduled for 2019. We are still working to raise the required matching dollars for this portion of the trail.
In 2016, the City of Oxford hired the Environmental Design Group to develop design estimates and create estimated costs for the trail out to the Oxford Community Park. To see the results of that study, please visit the City of Oxford Community Development Page.
We are committed to advocating for this trail system and helping the City find financial resources to make it possible.
