Since the late 1990’s a small and dedicated group of Oxford residents have been working to make this trail system possible in the City of Oxford.
In 2014, we were awarded a $500,000 Clean Ohio grant through the Ohio Department of Natural Resources. This grant allowed the first phase to be constructed in 2017.
We have since been awarded $2,250,00 in grants from OKI Regional Council of Governments for the second (2019) and third (2021) phases of the trail system. We are still working to raise the required matching dollars for this portion of the trail and need to raise $1,500,000 in order to be successful with these grant projects.
In 2016, the City of Oxford hired the Environmental Design Group to develop design estimates and create estimated costs for the trail out to the Oxford Community Park. To see the results of that study, please visit the City of Oxford Community Development Page.
We are committed to advocating for this trail system and helping the City find financial resources to make it possible.
